Our Why
We’re continuing part of the legacy started by Dahlia, who used her life to enrich the lives of those around her through education. A born do-gooder, she spent portions of her time being a beacon to most—from humanitarian trips to Africa to neighborhoods in Jamaica—her seconds, minutes, and hours were dedicated to young children in less-than-ideal circumstances.
The Award

We accept applications each year in February.

  • We provide a maximum of four (4) college-tuition scholarships valued at up to US$2000.00 each.

Who Can Apply?

We look for college students who can demonstrate a financial need.

  • College students studying Math, English, Science or Education.
  • Students who are, or have been, in individual philanthropic pursuits.

How Can I Support?

You can help us keep Dahlia’s legacy alive with your donations, no matter how small or large.

2022 Scholarship Recipient

Jaheim Mullings

We are so proud to celebrate the achievements of Jaheim Mullings, one of our student cohorts and past valedictorian at Wolmer’s Boys! Jaheim left Jamaica in 2022 to study medicine at the University of Guyana. He was the first recipient of our Dahlia’s Hope Memorial Scholarship in Science.

Despite his financial struggles, he has made the dean’s list every single semester and is a beloved volunteer at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Jaheim is an inspiration to us all. He has shown that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.

He is a role model for struggling high school seniors and community advocates, and we are so grateful to have him as a part of our community. We know that Jaheim will go on to do great things in the world of medicine. He is a compassionate and caring individual who is dedicated to helping others. We are confident that he will make a positive impact on the lives of many people.

Such a good friend and teacher, miss our chats of wisdom and love. My son misses her deeply, and can’t find a tutor as impeccable, as she. I pass the house regularly and say a little prayer for her. Sometimes see the light on at her home and wish to knock, just maybe a small glimmer of an old friend.
Good memories and precious times, never forgotten for such a gracious gift. Our teacher, daughter, sister, and friend. We are all better beings from knowing her.
Thank you, Jesus. Xxx
