Community Project
Each woman underwent a full head-to-toe makeover, including a brand-new wardrobe, massage and a session with a professional makeup artist.
The event was not just about outer beauty but also about igniting a renewed sense of self-worth and empowerment from within.
Shaianne
Shaianne Thomas was born in Brooklyn, New York, and she went to James Madison High School, where she studied law and graduated in 2014. Later, she moved to Pittsburgh Technical College to learn about hospitality, with a focus on travel and tourism management.
Shaianne faced some tough times, including being a victim of Domestic Violence (DB). Despite these challenges, she bravely moved out of a shelter with her young son before COVID-19. Now, she’s a dedicated stay-at-home mom, caring for her 5-year-old boy and working hard to organize her life.
Trying on a pair of boots
Shaianne’s primary goal is to get back on track with her career. Even though life has been difficult, she keeps going, showing incredible strength and determination. Shaianne’s story inspires others, reminding us we can overcome even the toughest obstacles with perseverance.
Jasmine
Jasmine Venzen, at 27 years old, hails from the Lower East Side NYCHA Projects, where she was born and raised. She’s a single mother with a bright three-year-old girl currently attending 3K.
In Jasmine’s own words, being a mom is a fantastic journey. She witnessed her daughter learn and grow daily, a truly heartwarming experience. But Jasmine’s life is a busy one. She attends classes daily, working hard to become a certified nursing assistant. Her days are packed, and her nights are short, but she doesn’t stop there.
Juggling her studies and parenting responsibilities, Jasmine has also ventured into entrepreneurship. On the side, she sells food to support her and her daughter’s education journey. You can find her delectable creations on Instagram under the handle Miracle§Eatss.Â
Despite the challenges posed by a sometimes harsh world, she remains kind and loving. Jasmine is a testament to the strength that comes from acceptance, love, and determination. She firmly believes that if everyone plays their part, no matter how small, it can make a significant difference in the lives of others.
